From napkin to revenue: Market validation workshop

  • StartDock 420 Herengracht Amsterdam, NH, 1017 BZ Netherlands (map)

The Investment Readiness Canvas (IRC) is a tool to determine if your business is ready for attracting investments. In each masterclass in this program we discuss one or two elements from the IRC. This makes the IRC the thread through this series of masterclasses.

You have a great idea, but how do you know if it is worth working on? Is their market for your business idea? During this workshop, you will learn how to validate your ideas with the least amount of work required. We teach you how to take your idea and get moving in the right direction quickly and efficiently.

Do you really understand your customer’s needs, pains and gains? And does your product and service relieve their pains enough or even makes them happy? Founders often assume there is a need for their product or service. But this is at the same time one of the riskiest assumptions.

 During this workshop, you will learn how to validate your ideas with the least amount of work required. We teach you how to take your idea and get moving in the right direction quickly and efficiently. We’re going to use the value proposition canvas to get a better understanding of your potential customers and how they value your products or services. We will also dive into effective ways to prototype and validate your ideas.

After joining this masterclass, you will know:

  • How to use the value proposition canvas to systematically improve or design new value propositions;

  • How to create a customer profile and which features of your business are most relevant for them;

  • How to prototype your business idea and validate your product/market fit.

Mike Rijkers
Mike Rijkers will be giving this wokrkshop. While studying anthropology at the University of Amsterdam, Mike Rijkers became particularly interested in the effect of media and technology on society and why some ideas and things became enormously popular and others don’t. Since then he is always looking for patterns that stand out, technological innovations, and consumer trends in order to gain a higher level of understanding of contemporary consumer culture. As Director at Innovate Today, he uses this while he is figuring out how to maintain the relevance of our clients in these times and boost innovative thinking.
